Contact Lens Exams in Colorado Springs

We evaluate the surface of your eyes, tear stability, and how your vision performs with different lenses, so you receive recommendations grounded in comfort and long-term eye health. Every exam helps ensure clear, dependable vision at work, at school, and throughout your day.

A Contact Lens Exam Helps Keep Your Eyes Healthy

Because contact lenses rest directly on the eye, a glasses prescription alone isn’t enough to ensure safe, comfortable wear. A dedicated contact lens exam allows us to evaluate how your eyes respond to lenses, identify any dryness or surface concerns, and select lens materials and schedules that make sense for your routine.

What Happens During a Contact Lens Exam at Bettner Vision

Your contact lens exam at Bettner Vision starts with a full eye health evaluation. We then perform additional testing specific to contact lenses and assess how trial lenses perform on your eyes.

During your exam, we may:

  • Measure corneal curvature and shape, and review your tear film
  • Assess pupil and iris size, place trial lenses, and evaluate their fit and movement
  • Fine-tune the prescription while you wear lenses
  • Review insertion, removal, and care
  • Schedule follow-up visits to confirm ongoing comfort and clarity

These steps help us recommend lenses that work well for your vision while supporting the health of your cornea and ocular surface.

We Support First-Time Contact Lens Wearers

If you are new to contact lenses, we provide a structured introduction. Once we confirm that lenses are appropriate for your eyes, we discuss lens categories, such as daily disposables and reusable lenses, and help you understand realistic wear schedules.

You will have guided time in the office to practice inserting and removing lenses, learn proper hygiene, and ask questions. Our optometrists usually schedule a follow-up visit to ensure the lenses remain comfortable and that your vision stays stable.

Contact Lenses for Children & Teens

Many children and teens at Bettner Vision wear contact lenses for school, sports, and everyday activities. We take extra care to confirm lens readiness, provide clear instructions on hygiene, and ensure that both the patient and their parents feel comfortable with the plan.

As part of our myopia management services, we may also recommend contact lenses for children with changing prescriptions, including orthokeratology (ortho-k) or daily disposable lenses such as MiSight®. These options can support clearer vision while helping manage prescription changes over time.
